Annual CHS All-Class Reunion
2026 Annual CHS All Class Reunion – Sponsored by The CAA
The 2026 CHS All-Class Reunion sponsored by the CAA is officially “In The Books!”
Once again, more than 250 CHS YELLOWJACKET alumni spanning eight decades along with their families and friends gathered at Choctaw Middle School on June 13th for the 2026 All-Class Reunion sponsored by the CAA. “Milestone events” – the “Bicentennial” Class of 1976’s 50th Reunion, the Class of 1966’s 60th Reunion, and the Class of 1986’s upcoming 40th Reunion – were celebrated along with the renewal of classmate friendships during the afternoon social, the evening meal/program, and/or the individual class breakout sessions.
Diane West (1976) did an outstanding job as the evening program emcee. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by two of our 2026 CAA Scholarship recipients – Brody Brock and Trent Garen. Dr. Dick Temple (1963) offered the invocation. Dr. JeanAnn Gaona, C-NP Schools Deputy Superintendent, provided an informative update on school district accomplishments and plans. Dr. Jim McCharen briefed the audience on the C-NP Schools Museum Association (CNPSMA) and Museum progress. Bob Whitaker (1964), CAA Board President, updated the audience on the CAA mission, recent accomplishments, and future plans. Mike Bower (1973) and Judy Warren (1967) reported the 2026 Alumni Golf Tournament results; class/group pictures followed. The evening concluded with the closing of the Silent Auction and announcement of the Raffle Drawing winners.
As she has done for over a decade, Nancy (Simons) Griffin (1964) made and donated a beautiful quilt for our Raffle Drawing prize. The 2026 CAA Events Committee – Mona (Jernigan) Chartney, Gale Gendron, Don Jernigan, and Tami (Baker) Stine – along with the entire CAA Board went “Above & Beyond” in planning and staging this event. The continued support of C-NP School District leadership was outstanding as usual.
The All-Class Reunion and the Alumni Golf Tourney are the CAA’s two annual fundraising events. Funds raised from these events support CAA “giving back” partnership efforts with the C-NP Schools via student scholarships, teacher grants, Teacher of the Year donations, the C-NP Schools Museum, and CAA “alumni reconnection” efforts via website, social media, and email. More than $30,000 will be “given back” in 2026.
The true success of these events cannot be measured solely in terms of dollars and cents. What value can be placed on: the renewal of friendships/relationships; the memories made; the “glory days” recalled; the CHS History preserved; the “giving back” examples demonstrated for new CHS Alumni? These are those “priceless” benefits and byproducts of an Alumni Association committed to its alumni – past, present, and future – its schools, and its communities.
